Educational Technician III - Autism Home Services
About the role
The Educational Technician III – Autism Home Services role provides instruction and behavioral support in a home/community based treatment program for 1-3 years olds with autism. Under the supervision of the Special Education Teacher and Director, the Education Tech III provides services that support the achievement of communication, play, socialization, self-care, cognitive, behavior and motor goals of students.
Responsibilities
- Provides instruction and behavioral support in a home/community based treatment program for 1-3 years olds with autism.
- Serves as a role model for positive behavior and supports the development of communication, play, socialization, self-care, cognitive, behavior and motor skills.
- Works closely with the Special Education Teacher and Director to develop and implement individualized educational plans for students.
- Assists in the assessment and evaluation of student progress towards their goals.
- Participates in team meetings and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Minimum of 90 credits of approved study required.
- Certification as an Education Technician III from the Maine Department of Education (minimum of 90 credits in approved study) required or must obtain within 90 days of start date.
- Valid Driver’s License and access to transportation required.
- Two years of experience in special education, early childhood or a related field preferred.
- Experience/interest in working with children ages 1-3 with autism and other developmental disabilities preferred.
- Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of the Educational Tech II role.
Qualifications
- DOE fingerprinting required.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and related interventions.
- Ability to adapt to different learning environments and individual student needs.

Pay
The salary range for this position is TBD, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Schedule
The schedule for this position is typically Monday through Friday, with hours varying based on the needs of the students and the program.
