Educational Support Professional (ESP) - Special Education

About the role

This is a Special Education Teaching Assistant position for the 2026-27 school year.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing instruction to students with special needs
• Support classroom activities and lesson plans
• Work closely with teachers, other staff, and parents to support student learning

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification or ability to obtain within one year
• Experience working with students with special needs preferred

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Passing background check required

Skills

• Knowledge of special education curriculum and resources
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
• Basic computer skills for managing student records and classroom materials

Pay

$21.24 hourly rate for new hires

Schedule

8:30 am - 3:40 pm Monday through Thursday, dismissal at 2:30 pm on Wednesdays
