Educational Sign Language Interpreter

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required; two-year college preferred.
• Valid BEI 2 or EIPA 4.0 (or higher) certification acceptable in the State of Michigan or National Certification.
• Experience with individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to understand and work with children of all ages.

Essential Duties

• Interpret between spoken and sign language in classroom and school settings.
• Support instruction with individuals and small groups.
• Affiliate with implementation of lesson plans.
• Supervise students as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and a safe learning environment.
