Educational Program Coordinator

About the Role

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is seeking a Special Education Teacher looking for a change and an opportunity to grow outside of classroom instruction by providing supervision in a school setting. This position is at the Day Academy located in Landenberg, PA.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and guidance to staff by communicating and ensuring compliance with state educational requirements and organizational and center standards of care.
• Oversee daily building-level activities, supports staff, meets with students, provides oversight and direction according to school standards, PBIS, and Devereux Policy.
• Lead professional development sessions for Teachers and Support Staff on Special Education related material.
• Support the IEP process.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree Required. PA Department of Education Instructional I Certification in Special Education Required. PA Department of Education Instructional II Certification in an area of instruction Preferred, Master's Degree Preferred.
• Experience: Experience in classroom and direct instruction Required. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Strong understanding of Special Education law required.

Compensation

$68,750 - $78,375 (based upon experience)

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8am-4pm (52 week position)

About Devereux Day Academy

Devereux Day Academy is a private academic school program licensed to serve students in grades K-12 who have been identified with the following primary disabilities: Emotional Disturbance, behavioral and cognitive differences. The Academy is also able to help children with autism, intellectual disabilities and speech and language impairments. The core curriculum has been aligned with the Pennsylvania Core Standards, as well as the curricula of partner school districts. Each student has an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP), which outlines goals for skill development and the best strategies by which the student can reach his/her goals. A multi-disciplinary team, including the individual's parent(s) or guardian, regularly reviews the plan to discuss challenges, progress and adjustments to goals as appropriate. A primary focus throughout the program is the philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS), a program-wide system of care that promotes and rewards positive behaviors, and prevents negative behaviors, to create safe, supportive living environments.
