Qualifications
- AAS Degree in Interpretation and Transliteration
- Experience as an interpreter in a variety of situations involving the deaf and hard of hearing
- Interpreter and/or transliterator certification awarded by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID)
- General level proficiency certificate at level 3 awarded by the National Association of the Deaf (NAD)
- Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) at the 4.0 level
- Cued speech transliterator certificate awarded by Testing, Evaluation and Verification Unit, Inc. (TECUnit)
- Must be flexible and willing to work in a variety of settings with a variety of students and staff
- Must be willing to assist in the eating and toileting needs of students
- Maintain data privacy and confidentiality for all students
- Computer skills preferred
Requirements
- Facilitate educational and social communication between deaf/hard of hearing students, their hearing peers, and staff members
- Provide ASL interpretation of verbal and written information in educational settings
- Participate as a member of the educational team serving these students
- Ensure student access to and understanding of curriculum

- $34.08 - $41.51 per hour dependent upon experience
