About the role

The Educational Diagnostician works with the Special Programs team, regional leaders, campus leaders, parents, and Special Education and General Education teachers in an effort to maximize student outcomes. The role involves assessing students, ensuring compliance with Special Education legislation, and supporting problem-solving interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and executes critical student instruction groups with fidelity at campuses
  • Supports 504 campus coordinators with manifestation determinations and 504 meeting requirements
  • Conducts dyslexia evaluations for 504 students
  • Tracks and documents academic and behavioral interventions in TIER I, TIER II, and TIER III
  • Conducts full and individual evaluations for non-Speech only students, non-Autism, and non-Emergency Disturbance students
  • Conducts evaluations for College Board accommodations
  • Conducts functional behavioral assessments and behavior intervention plans in response to intervention
  • Guides campuses in academic and behavioral interventions in TIER II and TIER III

Requirements

Master’s degree in Special Education or Education from accredited college or university
Texas Educational Diagnostician Certificate REQUIRED
At least 3 years experience as a campus Educational Diagnostician preferred

Qualifications

Must be able to sit for extended periods of time without being able to leave the work area.
Must be able to climb ladders or scaffolding, or climb and work in overhead areas
Must be able to work in a confined space or to crawl or move about on hands and knees.
Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 20 pounds (regularly/occasionally)

Skills

Demonstrates knowledge and skill in assessment, eligibility for Special Education, academic and behavioral interventions, state and federal legal frameworks for Special Education, and ensures compliance with Special Education legislation.

Pay

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $70,500 and $82,100, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity.

Schedule

This is a full-time on-site position located in the Mid RGV. Preference will be given to candidates who live in the region, or who are willing to relocate.
