About the role
Provide referral information to students, families, program and professionals regarding the needs of referred students
Obtain consent for psycho-educational evaluations
Utilize various assessment instruments and techniques as a part of multidisciplinary team to assist in identifying students eligible for Special Education Services and in determining appropriate intervention strategies and techniques
Organize assignments to meet due dates and mandated timelines
Write full and individual evaluation reports to address the needs of the student and guide instruction
Attend Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee meetings and interpret evaluation results
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Master's Degree from an accredited university; professional certification as an Educational Diagnostician by the Texas Education Agency
- Valid Texas teaching certification with a minimum of three years of successful teaching in a public or private school setting
- Knowledge of the administration and interpretation of a wide variety of psychoeducational evaluation instruments
- Proficient in district provided software and technology including the Special Education Data Management System
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats
- Must be willing and able to travel throughout the district
- Ability to communicate in Spanish and/or Sign Language is a plus
Skills
- Knowledge of state and federal rules, laws, policies and guidelines related to special education of students with disabilities
