About Alpha
Telling a child who scored 99% that they didn't pass may seem counterintuitive—but it's profoundly supportive. The point isn't perfection. It's demonstrating that you believe they're capable of more. That kind of respect is rare. Alpha doesn't shield students from failure. We prepare them for success. Confidence isn't manufactured by reducing expectations—it's earned when students accomplish what they once believed was impossible. This principle informs everything we do.
Our approach is intentionally unconventional. Students achieve academic mastery independently through AI-powered platforms, which allows adults to dedicate their energy to what truly transforms lives: coaching character, cultivating resilience, nurturing leadership, and instilling habits that drive exceptional results. Content delivery isn't our priority. Developing leaders who unlock potential in others is.
This position anchors that mission. You'll train the Guides who engage directly with students, transforming them into outstanding coaches instead of traditional instructors. You'll facilitate life skills workshops that students will recall long after they leave. You'll analyze performance data to pinpoint where students or Guides need support and coach them toward excellence. You'll also oversee your own student cohort, embodying the same standards you enforce. The impact multiplies. Each Guide you develop shapes dozens of students. Every cultural improvement you implement affects hundreds of young lives.
Success isn't about meetings attended or reports generated. It's about whether students grow more confident, disciplined, resilient, and capable because of the environment you cultivated. This role isn't designed for someone committed to maintaining traditional education structures. It's for someone convinced that young people deserve more than compliance, seat time, and mediocre expectations. If you're motivated by guiding others through challenging growth, leveraging data to inform decisions, and maintaining rigorous standards rooted in genuine belief, this role will suit you.
Responsibilities
- Develop and coach Guides to implement Alpha's coaching model with precision, enthusiasm, and unwavering standards.
- Facilitate dynamic life skills workshops addressing communication, concentration, feedback, leadership, and resilience for K-8 students using established playbooks.
- Analyze student and Guide performance metrics to spot coaching needs, eliminate obstacles, and produce quantifiable improvements weekly.
- Conduct motivation sessions that empower each student to embrace ambitious goals and consistently reach them.
- Oversee your own student cohort while exemplifying the coaching quality and accountability you require from all Guides.
- Cultivate a coaching environment where outstanding Guides reliably develop students who are passionate about learning, master academics ahead of schedule, and acquire the resilience, leadership, and life skills necessary to thrive well beyond school.
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Instructing academic content. Students complete core academics autonomously via AI-powered learning platforms.
- Developing lesson plans or curriculum materials. Your focus is superior coaching, not producing instructional content.
- Controlling classrooms using lectures, worksheets, or traditional behavior management. Students direct their own learning while you coach the habits that enable achievement.
- Reducing standards to sidestep challenging discussions. Rigorous expectations and authentic belief in student potential are inseparable.
- Defining success through activity rather than impact. Outcomes take precedence over effort alone.
