Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Associates degree
• ParaPro Assessment (Score of 456 or higher)

About the role

To assist the teacher in maintaining appropriate classroom activities and provide an environment that facilitates effective learning.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily and long-range lesson and classroom activity planning.
• Conduct learning exercises with individuals or small groups of children.
• Guide children in working and playing harmoniously with other children.
• Alert the teacher to the special needs of individual children.
• Provide escort and assistance to children as necessary.
• Walk students throughout the building as necessary.
• Maintain individual records for each child.
• Assist the teacher in maintaining neat work and study areas.
• Assist with the supervision of children during regular play periods.
• Collect and display suitable material for educational displays.
• Assist students with personal care.
• Perform other duties as assigned by administrators.

Must meet minimum requirements of walking distances of 100 yards and light lifting.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Service Personnel.
