- Hold an associates degree or higher
- Have an equivalent of two years of college coursework totaling 48 hours at an accredited institution of higher learning
- Pass the Education Testing Service (ETS) Para-Pro Assessment

- Work with small groups of students for the purpose of reinforcing skills, answering questions, providing constructive academic feedback
