Education Therapist

Responsibilities

• Employ academic courses of study and methods to enhance patient academic levels.
• Work full time during weekdays with some overtime.
• Perform work at the clinic with occasional work in the community or residential site.
• Administer tests and evaluate patients using formal and informal methods.
• Develop and implement individual educational goals and treatment plans for assigned patients.
• Evaluate situations as they occur and act upon the best solution for the good of staff, patients, and self.
• Communicate effectively in order to teach patients in academic areas.
• Attend and report verbally or in writing in conferences, staffing, and other meetings.
• Prepare conference summaries/reports for each assigned patient as needed per month.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• Teaching Credential, preferably in Special Education, is preferred.
• Experience in rehabilitation or with individuals with brain injuries or developmental disabilities is preferred.
