Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and implementation of the vision and strategic plan for all Education programs and partnerships.
- Outreach and coordination with diverse stakeholders, including youth, families, school teachers and administrators, CST Teaching Artists, community partners, funders, board members, and others.
- Coordination of education programs, curricula, and resource materials.
- General administrative duties supporting core programming at CST and off-site residencies (processing registrations, fielding phone/email inquiries, organization of materials, marketing efforts, space scheduling, etc.).
- Managing booking, casting, contracts, and other logistical details for YU Ambassador touring performances.
- Serving as Lead Teaching Artist for one or more residencies or other education programs (specific programs to be determined by Education Programs Manager, in consultation with Director of Education).
- Hiring, training, and oversight of Teaching Artists, Teaching Assistants, Education interns, and other education programming staff.
Collaboration
- Collaboration with Marketing team to design and maintain YU’s web and social media presence.
- Collaboration with Development team to support Education-related grants and audience engagement.
- Collaboration with Production Manager and Patron Services team to support school matinees, Youth Underground performances, and Mainstage auxiliary programming that relates to Education.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of theater education experience, ideally including some work in-school as a teaching artist.
- Some experience working with a diverse group of stakeholders is preferred.
- Administrative experience encouraged.
- Passion for theater education is essential.
- Essential skills include:
- Comfortable with G Suite and Google (or Word/Excel), or willingness to be trained.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment with a positive attitude.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, with and without hard deadlines.
- Creativity and resourcefulness required.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff across departments.
- Calm, flexibility, and a sense of humor.
About the Role
The Education Programs Manager will provide support and management for CST’s signature education program, Youth Underground (YU), serving youth ages 13-25; in-school residencies with elementary, middle, and high school partners in greater Cambridge; Summer programming, engaging Cambridge youth; education components of CST’s Mainstage programs and community initiatives; and cultivation of ongoing relationships with schools, students, and families, and community partners.
Requirements
This is a part-time position averaging 20 hours a week. Salary ranges from $28,000 to $30,000, depending on experience.
