Education Program Manager
Stanford’s Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI) is a newly merged, rapidly growing research institute whose mission is to advance AI research, education, policy, and practice to improve the human condition. The Program Manager, Education administers the day-to-day operations of HAI’s portfolio of scholar, fellow, and student programs.
About the role
Reporting to the Managing Director, Research and Campus Engagements, this position manages programs including Data Science Scholars, AI4All, Data Science for Social Good (DSSG), AI and Data Science Postdoctoral Fellows, student affiliate groups, and future educational programs. The role oversees meeting setup, calendaring, catering, and event logistics; administers participant intake, onboarding, and lifecycle activities; coordinates with faculty advisors, mentors, vendors, and partner organizations; and collaborates closely with HAI’s Communications, Finance, Policy, and HR teams.
This is a full-time (100% FTE), fixed-term position for two years, renewable based on programmatic need and funding. Hybrid work arrangement.
Responsibilities
- Independently implement, administer, and evaluate day-to-day activities of the unit by identifying and executing tasks and objectives, making recommendations that impact policies and programs, and assigning resources to achieve program goals.
- Collect and analyze data, create reports, review and explain trends; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve program goals.
- Analyze and interpret policies; develop, revise, and implement procedures for the program.
- Represent the program as the key contact and subject-matter expert within the department, unit, or school; commit resources and provide information and/or training. May also represent the program to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.
- Organize and/or participate in outreach activities, including developing communications and training, planning/promoting events and conferences.
- May participate in development of budgets, monitor and approve expenditures, perform limited forecasting, and provide recommendations that determine the budget.
- May direct and supervise staff to perform various tasks and assignments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

Pay
Budgeted pay range: $104,412 to $124,516 per annum.
