Education Program Coordinator
About the Role
The Education Program Coordinator provides comprehensive program coordination, administrative, and operational support for KLETC’s Professional Continuing Education (PCE) unit and the Center for Public Safety Leadership (CPSL). This position supports the planning, development, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of professional development and leadership education programs for law enforcement and public safety professionals. Working collaboratively with faculty, staff, instructors, and external partners, the coordinator supports a broad portfolio of educational initiatives, including leadership development programs, executive education offerings, assessments, conferences, workshops, and other CPSL activities.
The role serves as a key point of contact for students, instructors, agency representatives, and other stakeholders, ensuring a high-quality participant experience while advancing the missions of both KLETC PCE and the CPSL. This position exercises independent judgment, manages multiple priorities simultaneously, and supports continuous improvement efforts to enhance program quality and service to Kansas and regional public safety agencies.
Responsibilities
- 45% Coordination of Training Events:
- Coordinate the development, marketing, and delivery of law enforcement continuing education and specialized seminars, courses, workshops, and other training-related events at regional sites across Kansas.
- Execute KLETC and CPSL’s business strategy by offering training on a variety of law enforcement topics.
- Research and develop continuing education training classes and seminars for local, state, and federal law enforcement officers.
- Coordinate with faculty, consultants, coaches, and subject matter experts involved in CPSL programming.
- Manage participant communications, including enrollment, pre-course materials, program updates, and post-program follow-up.
- Administer participant assessments, surveys, and evaluation instruments for leadership development and executive education programs.
- Collect, track, and analyze program evaluation data and participant feedback to support continuous improvement and reporting.
- Determine audio-visual equipment, instructional supplies, and staff needs for training events.
- Recruit subject matter experts as instructors and negotiate contract terms.
- Direct and manage logistics at training events, including registrations, classroom setup, and addressing participant concerns.
- Manage program assessments by conducting, interpreting, and reporting evaluations from training events.
- Ensure regional training sites are maintained and prepared for training.
- Prepare reports, correspondence, charts, graphs, and other documents related to assigned duties.
- 20% Representation in Law Enforcement Community (Northeast Region):
- Perform administrative duties in support of the KLETC and CPSL mission.
- Establish short- and long-term goals for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Actively participate in partnerships with the Kansas law enforcement community and professional associations.
- Schedule and facilitate regional training council meetings.
- Work with event planning committees to develop and implement law enforcement association conference programs.
- Coordinate distance learning programs with other law enforcement agencies or organizations.
- Enhance external relations to reflect partnerships with law enforcement agencies, professional associations, higher education partners, and other stakeholders.
- 25% Education Technology Management:
- Serve as a subject matter expert for classroom and remote training technology.
- Set up classrooms and manage IT systems, network operations, and applications.
- Understand and manage simulator technology.
- Develop and implement technological initiatives to support training.
- Enroll students in classes, review registrations for accuracy, and assist enrollees as needed.
- Communicate with students, agency heads, and others to answer questions or provide assistance regarding PCE and CPSL classes.
- Schedule classes in coordination with other KLETC and CPSL training sites.
- 10% Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid Kansas driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment.
- Less than 25% travel.
Qualifications
- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree plus one year of experience, or high school diploma/GED plus five years of experience.
- Three years of experience in the management, coordination, or delivery of education and/or training programs.
- Two years of experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software applications/technology.
- Two years of experience organizing and managing multiple and varied tasks and projects.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Preferred:
- Experience in the management of the training process or in the training/education of adults.
- Knowledge of and/or experience in distance learning delivery mediums.
- Ability to work with members of the law enforcement community and/or professional law enforcement associations.
- Experience in coordinating remote training and/or events.
- Experience working independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience working with adult learners, faculty, administrators, or professional groups.
- Experience working effectively in a team environment with deadlines and multiple, rapidly evolving priorities.

Pay
Advertised salary range: $69,400.
