About the role
The Education Coordinator serves as a leader, advisor, instructor and facilitator of clinical coursework in a laboratory specialty area for the Saint Luke's Hospital Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) Program. Day shifts M-F with every 5th weekend and two holidays annually.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a leader, advisor, instructor and facilitator of clinical coursework in a laboratory specialty area for the Saint Luke's Hospital Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) Program.
- Monitors outcomes to ensure effectiveness of curriculum.
- Develops strategies to improve performance and maintain program accreditation.
- Plans, implements, evaluates and modifies curriculum for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Serves as a clinical and educational consultant for SLHS laboratory staff.
- Promotes professional development and is responsible for discipline-specific staff training, education and competency.
- Collaborates with educators and leaders and is a resource for students, staff, patients and the community.
- Maintains discipline-specific bench competency by working at least 25 percent as an MLS at the bench.
