About the role

The Education Compliance Specialist works under the direction of the Education Manager to ensure daily activities align with Head Start Performance Standards and state regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate education services to comply with state and federal guidelines.
  • Advise managers on non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain regular communication with Early Head Start Director, Preschool Director, and Education Manager.
  • Assist teachers in classroom instruction and provide strategies for developmentally appropriate teaching methods.
  • Work cooperatively with other staff to create a positive learning environment.
  • Support and guide new teaching staff through mentorship and training.
  • Monitor and maintain classroom files for compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Contribute to team efforts by performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or closely related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Previous Early Head Start or Head Start experience preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years work experience with children ages zero (0) to five (5).

Requirements

  • CPR and First Aid Certification required.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Sincere desire to make a difference in the community and develop professional skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice and best practices in child care.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to organize information.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to prepare clear, concise reports.
  • Physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 15 pounds, and using hands to handle objects.
