Compliance Specialist
Position Summary
The Compliance Specialist provides support to affordable communities by ensuring they are in compliance with Federal and State rules and regulations. This is accomplished through reviewing documents and providing guidance to site staff when corrections are needed.

Essential Job Functions
- Reviews resident files for completion and compliance with state requirements.
- Reviews files electronically.
- Mets specific deadlines set by state agencies.
- Approves files once complete.
- Enters tenant data into the state online systems.
- Provides guidance on tenant file corrections to staff at the property sites.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Specific Education Or Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
- Minimum 1-3 years of multi-family property management compliance experience.
- Proven success handling and processing resident files, recertifications, or other resident paperwork.
- Must be willing to work Saturdays and some minor holidays.
- Affordable housing certifications such as HCCP and COS are preferred.
Physical Demands And Work Environment
- Frequently sit, stand and walk.
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Frequently required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- The temperature in the workplace is typically moderate, though the ability to withstand seasonal cold and heat of the outdoors is necessary.
Travel Requirements
Regular travel is not expected for this position; however, please anticipate 5-10% for company events.
