Education Coach, Transitional Scholars Program (Part-Time)

Key Responsibilities And Duties

  • Support the inclusion and success of students with disabilities in academic and campus settings
  • Attend classes with student(s) and provide individualized support as needed
  • Aid students in developing effective study skills, learning strategies, and academic habits
  • Help students access college resources and services
  • Foster student independence while providing guidance with social, communication, and functional life skills
  • Encourage appropriate college expectations, behaviors, and self-advocacy
  • Collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, supervisor, and other members of the support team
  • Submit weekly progress updates to supervisor
  • Maintain confidentiality of all students’ educational records and information
  • Provide coverage for fellow Educational Coaches when needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Interest in and commitment to working with students with disabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Flexibility, reliability, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training as needed

  • Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action
  • Experience working in a community college or similar environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with students in need
