This is a part-time, 20-hour/week onsite role at Barksdale AFB, LA, under a 5.5-year contract. The schedule will be determined monthly in advance. Candidates must be U.S. citizens. This is a W2 position with Stage 4 Solutions, offering health benefits and a 401K.
Responsibilities
- Provide hardware and software system administration for offices, classrooms, testing computers, servers, fax machines, satellite receivers, switches, routers, printers, and other peripherals critical to BTES technology systems.
- Manage equipment inventory from receipt to disposal using Base Equipment Communication Office (BECO) products.
- Maintain the Barksdale AFB BTES SharePoint site, including updating links, building pages, linking documents/databases, and ensuring integration with the Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) BTES website.
- Implement new systems (software/hardware) as directed, including setting up testing computers and running cables in ceilings, baseboards, and walls.
- Provide networking architecture recommendations and support, develop blueprints for new/current facilities, and maintain facility diagrams.
- Establish and follow procedures for safeguarding critical data, including maintaining a video surveillance system (server, switches, cameras, software) with at least 45 days of recordings. Assist legal entities with A/V recordings.
- Develop tracking systems to monitor information systems, including documentation and facility diagrams for fixes and implementations.
- Ensure safe migration of data between systems, install/maintain the Education Center primary database, conduct upgrades, and train BTES personnel.
- Review building security procedures, change cyber lock combinations annually or as needed, and instruct personnel on secure storage container lock mechanisms (X-07/X-08). Move safes as required.
- Provide recommendations for future planning and improvements to information systems, and assist the BTES team leader with communications security to meet DoD/AF requirements.
- Research and purchase computer systems/components via GSA Advantage, maintain/execute a computer refresh schedule.
- Enforce information security on all systems and educate personnel on proper security procedures.
- Train/assist office personnel on required software for job efficiency.
- Conduct annual physical/visual inventory of computer systems and peripherals.
- Program, maintain, and refresh computer systems/peripherals on a rotating schedule, replacing systems as requested.
- Maintain, operate, and schedule the Defense Education Training Network (DETN) satellite training system, ensuring annual training is completed on time.
- Monitor, operate, and maintain the Quality-of-Life Network (QOLNET) within Education Services facilities, ensuring daily network/server operations meet established norms.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience supporting hardware and software applications used by BTES, including foreign-language and Professional Military Education (PME) testing.
- Experience with Windows Enterprise 10 & 11, Microsoft 365 Office Enterprise, and BECO products.
- Strong customer service, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of and experience with Air Force computer/network security regulations (required).
- Experience with standard installation practices for electronic equipment, including network and video surveillance systems.
- Current CompTIA A+ and Network+ certification (required).
- U.S. citizenship (required).
