About the role
The Educational Assistant (EA) will assist students with intellectual disabilities in developing skills for independent living, including meal preparation, household chores, and self-advocacy. The EA will also provide counseling and support.
Responsibilities
- Assist students in preparing balanced meals
- Teach and execute household chores
- Provide small group instruction on independent living skills
- Counsel students on all aspects of independent living
- Occasionally visit The College of Saint Rose campus and various community locations
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in related field (preferred)
- Some experience working with people with disabilities (preferred)
- Valid NYS drivers license

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for supporting individuals with disabilities

Pay
$18.25 - $19.25/hour
Schedule
- Full-time: Monday - Friday, 3pm-11pm
- Part-time (Monday - Friday): 4pm-9pm
- Part-time (Weekends): Various weekend shifts available
