Education Assistant - College Experience Program

About the role

The Educational Assistant (EA) will assist students with intellectual disabilities in developing skills for independent living, including meal preparation, household chores, and self-advocacy. The EA will also provide counseling and support.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in preparing balanced meals
• Teach and execute household chores
• Provide small group instruction on independent living skills
• Counsel students on all aspects of independent living
• Occasionally visit The College of Saint Rose campus and various community locations

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in related field (preferred)
• Some experience working with people with disabilities (preferred)
• Valid NYS drivers license

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Passion for supporting individuals with disabilities

Pay

$18.25 - $19.25/hour

Schedule

• Full-time: Monday - Friday, 3pm-11pm
• Part-time (Monday - Friday): 4pm-9pm
• Part-time (Weekends): Various weekend shifts available
