What's your day like?

  • Engage with students of all ages and backgrounds to help assess their education and career goals and develop personalized plans in support of achieving those goals.
  • Provide guidance and support in navigating all aspects of funding their education, including financial aid, scholarships, and student loans.
  • Conduct virtual or in-person consultations, provide resources and individualized guidance, deliver virtual or in-person presentations to a variety of stakeholders, and provide feedback and input related to the effectiveness of the organization's career planning and success programming.
  • Use your expertise, problem-solving skills, and empathetic nature to provide tailored advice and support, helping each person map out a path to success.
  • Work with minimal supervision, using a customer-centric mindset to deliver exceptional service and make a positive impact on each individual's journey towards success.

What you need to be successful

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, families and partners in the community, and to collaborate effectively with colleagues across the organization.
  • A demonstrated understanding of education and career access in Northern New Hampshire.
  • Strong presentation and public-speaking skills, with an ability to interact with a wide range of participants and groups of all sizes.
  • The ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A strong desire to work with individuals across a wide range of socio-economic demographics.
  • A self-motivated, and able to thrive in a frequently changing environment, working with minimal supervision.
  • The ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, as required by business needs.
  • The ability to travel as required by position or business needs; up to 80% to travel to local schools, partners, conferences, and meetings.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in school or career counseling, college admissions, financial aid, or workforce development.
  • A demonstrated understanding of education and career access in Northern New Hampshire.
  • Strong presentation and public-speaking skills, with an ability to interact with a wide range of participants and groups of all sizes.
  • The ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
