EDM Operator - Weekend Days

About the role

The EDM Operator supports the operations at Velosity Brooklyn Park, MN location, focusing on the operation of EDM machines and deburring metal surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Report machine, material, and quality concerns or issues to leads and supervisors.
• Operate wire EDM equipment according to work instructions, set-up sheets, blueprints, and customer requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance on wire processing equipment, including cleaning guides, changing filters, and shuttle blocks.
• Use deburring knives and other tools under a microscope to remove material from piece parts.
• Verify product quality both visually and dimensionally, using vision systems, CMMs, and hand tools.
• Ensure products meet quality specifications as per customer requirements and company standards.
• Document and report production rates and scrap levels to meet ERP system targets.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to use measuring instruments such as Vision measurement systems, Micrometers, and dial indicators.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and Word.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience operating hand deburring tools and working under a microscope.

Pay

Typical range for this role: $20.00-$26.00 per hour. Compensation depends on experience, education, and other relevant factors.

Schedule

Weekend Shift: Work 36 hours (Friday through Sunday), get paid for 40 hours. Enjoy a compressed schedule with pay for a full 40-hour workweek.
