Editorial Production Assistant
About the role
We’re looking for a contract Editorial Production Assistant to support the production of curriculum materials from early editorial review through materials design and publishing. Working at key points during the production process, you'll apply established guidelines, flag errors or inconsistencies, and prepare content and materials for the next stage of production, helping to keep recurring workflows moving smoothly. This is a great opportunity for someone who is highly organized, has an eye for detail, and is interested in curriculum production.
You'll coordinate with team members across Editorial, Materials Design, and Publishing to support recurring workflows and help ensure that accurate, organized, and error-free curriculum materials are ready for each stage of production.
Responsibilities
- Apply established guidelines during production of curriculum materials
- Flag errors or inconsistencies in content and materials
- Prepare content and materials for the next stage of production
- Coordinate with Editorial, Materials Design, and Publishing teams to support recurring workflows
- Help ensure accurate, organized, and error-free curriculum materials at each production stage
Requirements
- Strong writing and editorial skills
- 1–2 years of proofreading or copyediting experience preferred (or equivalent experience that demonstrates the skills needed to succeed)
- Attention to detail, with the ability to identify errors, inconsistencies, and missing information
- Confidence in learning new technologies and tools as needed in the workflow
- Strong organizational skills, especially when managing multiple tasks and workflows in a virtual environment
- Ability to manage priorities and clearly communicate progress, questions, and next steps
- Ability to work collaboratively, incorporate feedback, and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy
Pay
$30–40 USD per hour
