About the role
The Markey Cancer Center is seeking a highly motivated Editorial Officer Senior to provide comprehensive editing at the levels of scientific content, clarity of writing, and grammar for grant proposals and manuscripts.
Responsibilities
- Support grant application preparations, working with other staff and faculty to ensure timely submission of large scale proposals.
- Develop strong grant proposals and manuscript submissions with a focus on scientific research and communication.
- Collaborate with graduate students, fellows, junior faculty, and senior levels of leadership to enhance proposal quality.
- Show a high attention to detail, quality of work, communication, organizational, and planning skills.
- Work under tight deadlines and maintain a high level of customer service.
Requirements
- A strong scientific research background and passion for promoting better scientific communication.
- Able to work with various levels of leadership and staff within the cancer center.
- A high attention to detail, quality of work, communication, organizational, and planning skills.
- A high level of customer service and ability to work under tight deadlines.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of related experience.
- Proficiency in Word and bibliographic/reference management software (i.e., EndNote).
- Knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator is helpful.

Pay
$48,214 - $79,560/year
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM. Minimal overtime when needed.
