Editor, Senior
About the role
We're seeking a technical writer with 2+ years of experience editing documents according to set standards for order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology. You'll support the Joint Staff by editing, formatting, reviewing, and preparing enterprise-level publications, terminology products, and supporting materials used across doctrine, education, terminology, and training communities.
Responsibilities
- Edit, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise-level publications, terminology products, or doctrine documentation
- Support revision cycles, production workflows, and publication timelines
- Ensure consistent, accurate, and policy-aligned content across multiple publication types
- Support modernization initiatives aligned with Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), evolving doctrine workflows, data exchange requirements, and mission-driven content enhancements
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience editing documents according to set standards for order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
- Experience with Joint or Service doctrine development and publishing processes
- Experience editing, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise-level publications, terminology products, or doctrine documentation
- Experience adhering to established style guides, formatting standards, and terminology policies
- Experience with modern editorial and formatting tools, including Microsoft Word, Adobe, and publishing applications
- Experience supporting revision cycles, production workflows, and publication timelines
- Secret clearance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management Science, English, or Communications
- 2+ years of experience in a senior editor-level role, or 5+ years of experience in a senior editor-level role in lieu of a degree
Skills
- Nice if you have: Experience preparing coordination drafts, signature drafts, research reports, CRMs, terminology reports, or other doctrinal or policy-based publications
- Experience supporting editorial assessments, special studies, doctrine reviews, or terminology analyses
- Experience with graphics editing, content structuring, or preparing publications, including tables, vignettes, and complex formatting
- Knowledge of JDEIS systems such as JEL, JEL+, SIPR, JDDT, JTMD, UTDT, or JAMIS

Pay
The estimated annual salary range for this position is $55,200.00 to $126,000.00 (annualized USD).
Schedule
Full-time and part-time employees working at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in Booz Allen's benefit programs. Individuals that do not meet the threshold are only eligible for select offerings, not inclusive of health benefits.
