Editorial Intern (Book Publishing / Literary Media)

About the role

The publication covers more than 8,000 traditionally published books and over 4,000 self-published books each year, with the magazine publishing on the 1st and 15th of every month. The internship is ideal for someone interested in the publishing industry, cultural journalism, and criticism.

Responsibilities

• Receiving and cataloging submissions for review
• Fact-checking reviews of adult fiction titles
• Writing reviews and interviews for the publication
• Attending weekly editorial meetings
• Additional editorial tasks as needed

Qualifications

• Interest in the publishing industry, cultural journalism, and criticism
• Strong attention to detail
• Individuals in BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, disabled, and other traditionally underrepresented communities are highly encouraged to apply
