Editorial Assistant

About the role

YourTeen Magazine is a media company dedicated to supporting parents of teenagers. Our content ranges from expert-backed parenting advice to fun, relatable articles that connect with families navigating the teen years. We’re looking for a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Editorial Assistant to join our team on a freelance, part-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Proofread and copyedit articles to ensure they are clear, grammatically correct, and error-free
• Format articles in Google Docs and WordPress with SEO best practices in mind
• Publish articles on our WordPress site, ensuring clean formatting, correct metadata, and internal linking
• Coordinate with writers to clarify edits or deadlines when needed
• Collaborate with our CEO and managing editors to support the publishing pipeline

Requirements

• Excellent grammar, spelling, and editing skills
• Strong familiarity with SEO principles for online publishing
• Experience using WordPress, Google Docs, and Trello
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Prior experience in editorial, publishing, or digital media preferred

Pay
