This position will cover news stories as assigned. Our ideal candidate has an excellent eye for visual compelling storytelling and is passionate about combining strong writing and storytelling with great pictures and sound. Responsibilities Edit stories, videos, and newscasts on tight deadlines for newscasts and digital platforms.Maintain news archivesOperate electronic newsgathering equipmentNonlinear editing using Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Avid, and Edius for newscast elements including PKGs, VOs, VOSOTs, opens, teases and preproduction materialCollaborate with producers, reporters and managers to produce high quality storiesEnsure proper storage and organization of media filesMaintain standards for all edited materialTaking in ENG and SNG feedsAny other editing responsibilities as assigned by news managers Requirements Ability to work and edit on linear and nonlinear editing softwareProficiency editing with Adobe PremiereCan handle and juggle multiple editing assignments under strict deadlinesKnowledge of current video production techniquesFamiliarity with mass communications law and media responsibilitiesRecord multiple feeds on a digital encoding systemSearch for source materials from multiple outlets and platformsAble to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment with calm, skilled executionRelated military experience will be consideredIn-person attendance is required Values in Action At Hearst Television we tell stories every day.
