EDI Edifecs Tester

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in requirements elaboration with business subject matter experts, providing insight and input.
• Define the scope of testing required, identify the types of tests to be performed (functional, regression, integration) and create detailed test cases within Jira.
• Understand the EDI transaction business logic such as requests and responses.
• Use Edifecs tools such as SpecBuilder and MapBuilder to ensure the transaction complies with HIPAA mandates and any trading partner agreements.
• Verify the transaction passes through the Edifecs XEngine without errors and that the data is correctly mapped to and from internal systems.
• Document and report defects clearly and precisely.
• Work closely with developers to help troubleshoot and resolve problems.
• Perform re-testing for fixed defects and provide regular status reports to project stakeholders.
• Identify issues that may arise in transmission, identifying root causes and document defects.
• Participate in end-to-end testing to verify the entire EDI transaction workflow is functioning correctly.
• This will include testing inbound and outbound processes, from the initial request to the final response.
• Simulate different scenarios including approval, denial, and requests for additional information to ensure the system handles all outcomes accurately.
• Ensure that all identified issues are fixed before the system goes live.
• Act as a liaison between client and internal technical teams, ensuring seamless communication and issue resolution.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Edifecs Transaction Manager, XEngine, and SpecBuilder
• Solid understanding of HIPAA compliant transactions and workflows for healthcare EDI transactions (e.g., 837, 834, 835, 270/271, 276/277, 278).
• EDI and Healthcare Domain Knowledge
• Deep understanding of HIPAA-compliant EDI transactions and implementation guidelines
• Ability to validate EDI data against business requirements and technical specifications. This includes understanding the mapping of data between internal systems and X12.
• Strong knowledge of SQL
