ED Technician
About the Role
Saint Luke’s East in Lee's Summit, MO is seeking an ED Technician to join our Emergency Department team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), nursing assistant, patient care tech, EMT, or nursing student. After training, your schedule will be PRN with the flexibility of self-scheduling. You will help improve hospital throughput and capacity while enhancing the patient experience. Our nursing assistants make a daily impact on patients' hospital stays by providing individualized care in a positive and supportive work environment. We offer low patient ratios and treat patients and each other with respect and kindness.
Responsibilities
- Provides patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN or LPN.
- Performs direct and indirect patient care tasks.
- Assists with activities of daily living and care, including bathing, hygiene, elimination and toileting, nutrition, feeding, hydration, ambulation, and positioning.
- Anticipates the patient’s and family’s needs proactively.
- Individualizes and modifies care according to the patient’s needs.
- Collaborates with other healthcare team members to enhance patient care.
Requirements
- Applicable experience: Less than 1 year.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Team-oriented, eager to expand skills, and possesses strong attention to detail.
Opportunities are available for entry-level and experienced CNAs, nursing assistants, EMTs, and nursing students. If you have an interest in providing patient care but lack experience, or have worked in home health, a 6-week training program will equip you with the skills and confidence to perform the role.
Schedule
Part-time, evening shifts.
