ED Tech - full-time -Dayshift

About the role

Carries out routine patient care duties and related activities under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at St. Mary's Hospital, Athens, GA.

Responsibilities

• Able to assess the direct and indirect needs of the patient within the scope of their practice
• Plans and prioritizes patient safety needs
• Implements appropriate patient safety activities and evaluates their effectiveness
• Communicates patient safety needs and confidentiality issues
• Interacts professionally with patients, hospital personnel, and guests (pleasant, polite, and understanding)
• Quickly responds to patient safety needs
• Demonstrates initiative to react to changing needs
• Works effectively in stressful situations
• Maintains a clean, neat, and professional appearance
• Exercises high initiative and good decision-making ability

Requirements

• High School Diploma required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association required at time of hire
• Formal specialty training preferred
• Medical terminology and behavioral health experience preferred
• No prior experience required
