About the role
Registration of outpatient, pre-admissions, and admissions to CarolinaEast Health System.
Responsibilities
- High school diploma with additional courses in medical terminology, bookkeeping, computer use, office machines, and ability to work accurately with figures.
- Two years of experience in a clerical health care setting preferred.
- Complete the nine (9) courses assigned for the Patient Registration Counselor within the registration education module.
- Courses include HIPAA Overview, Registration and Insurance Basics, and Service Excellence.
- A passing grade of 80 is required for all courses and must be completed within 6 months of date of hire.
- These nine courses are the basic level of the 26 prerequisite courses required for certification as a Patient Access Specialist (CPAS).
- Deliver outstanding customer service that upholds CarolinaEast's Standards of Excellence.
