ED Registered Nurse NOC Shift

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care, practicing in an evidence-based manner, within the Scope of Practice of the California Nursing Practice Act, regulatory requirements, standards of care, and hospital policies. The RN performs all the steps of the nursing process including assessing patients, interpreting data, planning, implementing and evaluating care. In addition, the RN coordinates care with other providers and acts as a teacher to the patient and family to provide the knowledge and skills needed to manage their care and prevent complications.

Responsibilities

  • Affords patients with assessments by collecting and documenting data about patients through interviewing, history taking, personal needs and physical assessment findings.
  • Obtains accurate and relevant assessment screening data and interprets the data as normal v. abnormal.
  • Determines nursing diagnosis.
  • Maintains a climate conducive to healing through being present to patient & family, identifying and managing discomforts and providing emotional support and education.
  • Teaches needed information for self-care and illness prevention to patient and family members.
  • Recognizes and communicates to proper authority ethical and legal issues relative to patient care; completes incident report.
  • Safely performs and documents care plan using the nursing procedures required for the patient assignment consistent with the standards of care.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of interventions and monitors patient for adverse responses and side effects.
  • Affords patient/family level of understanding and documents information on clinical records.
  • Works to support the achievement of department strategic and organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • 3+ years to 5 years prior experience.
  • Preferred 1+ year to 2 years of critical care experience.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills - Ability to read, write and understand the English language.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to problem solve and adapt to a changing environment.
  • Uses information and keeps abreast of developments in technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making in patient care.
  • Works as a valued team member, but also autonomously.
  • Positively influences others to meet patient needs and achieve shared goals.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices and current trends in health care and hospital system organization and administration sufficient to provide clinical management, leadership, coordination, and operational direction for assigned areas of responsibility.

Skills

  • Nursing\RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure And/Or Compact State Licensure required.
  • Current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers required.

Benefits

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $77.69 - $95.52 per hour. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Schedule

12 Hour Night Shift.
