ED Crisis Clinician

About the role
The ED Crisis Clinician is a licensed mental health professional who provides essential front-line support within the Emergency Department. Working independently in a fast-paced clinical environment, the clinician delivers immediate crisis assessment, intervention, and short-term therapeutic support to individuals and families experiencing mental health emergencies. All services are delivered through a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and patient-centered lens.
In addition to direct clinical care, the ED Crisis Clinician serves as a key resource to the interdisciplinary team, offering consultation on the psychosocial dimensions of patient care. This role is vital in fostering a collaborative, responsive, and compassionate care environment aligned with the organization’s mission and values.
Responsibilities
- Conducting comprehensive clinical assessments.
- Formulating individualized intervention and referral plans.
- Determining appropriate levels of care.
Requirements
Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or other mental health profession
- 2 or more years of clinical experience in mental health setting
Licensure/ Registration/ Certification
- Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) - MN Board of Social Work
- Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) - MN Board of Marriage and Family Therapy
- Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) - MN Board of Behavioral Health & Therapy
- Licensed Psychologist (LP) - MN Board of Psychology
Preferred Qualifications
Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination
- Direct clinical experience in an Emergency Department or hospital setting
- One or more years in mental health crisis intervention

On-call/Casual, Day/Evening shift
