ED Communication Nurse - RN - Full-time opportunity
About the role
The Emergency Medicine Communication Specialist (EMCS) serves as the first point of contact between the HH Emergency Department, prehospital providers and outside facilities for both adult and pediatric patients. This role involves determining needed resources, optimizing throughout, maintaining patient safety, facilitating transfers, and distributing critical lab notifications.
Responsibilities
- Determine needed resources and optimize throughout for patient safety
- Facilitate patient transfers when necessary
- Distribute critical lab notifications to appropriate clinicians
- Activate specific care teams including but not limited to Emergency Medicine, Stroke, etc., based on information received
Requirements
- BS in Nursing preferred
- Fulfilled the requirements to be licensed as a registered nurse in NYS
- At least two years of acute care nursing experience; critical care experience a plus
Qualifications
- Licensed by New York State to practice as a Registered Nurse
- CPR/BLS certification required
Skills
Nurses use the nursing process and evidence-based practice to coordinate and provide direct care and services that support care. The Level III nurse must be able to interpret policy and procedures, share new evidence with peers, adhere to practice and policy standards, and support efficiencies in care.
Pay
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Schedule
Part-time and Full-time positions available. SCHEDULE - 10a-10:30pm. (Option to have a set schedule)
