Ecotoxicology Laboratory Assistant

Location: On-Site (Port Gamble, Washington) | Relocation assistance negotiable | Compensation: $17.50/hour

About the role

Spheros Environmental is seeking a part-time Laboratory Assistant to join our Port Gamble, WA team. The Port Gamble Environmental Laboratory is a consulting laboratory focused on performing aquatic toxicity testing on water, sediment, and other matrices.

Responsibilities

• Support daily laboratory operations through general lab maintenance activities
• Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and glassware
• Manage testing material inventory
• Ensure organization and proper storage of laboratory supplies

Requirements

• High School diploma at a minimum
• Ability to follow protocols, chain of command, and ask questions when discrepancies arise
• Proven ability to work accurately and efficiently, communicate promptly, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Works well independently and within a team setting (proactive, quick learner, detail-oriented, ability to multitask)
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
• Ability to work long hours standing and lift/move heavy objects
• Ability to perform work in an efficient manner and continually improve

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or equivalent

Schedule

Part-time employees may work up to 28 hours per week, with a flexible schedule designed to accommodate laboratory needs. Weekend work is optional.
