Economic Service Worker

Nature of Work

We are seeking compassionate and detail-oriented individuals to join our Long Term Care Unit as Economic Service Workers to provide critical economic assistance services to West Virginians in need.

Responsibilities

• Process applications for various economic assistance programs including SNAP, Medicaid, and Emergency Assistance/LIEAP.
• Determine eligibility for these programs based on established standards and guidelines.
• Maintain caseloads for the programs managed by the Unit.
• Serve as a key point of contact for clients to ensure timely, accurate, and compassionate services and resources.

Requirements

• Training: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Substitution: Any combination of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience providing direct client services, telemarketing, retail, or clerical work may substitute for the required training on a year-for-year basis.
• Special Requirement: A valid driver's license may be required.

Qualifications

Every thirty (30) credit hours of education will equal one (1) year of training. Experience in Economic Services work requiring program eligibility decisions may substitute for the required training at the rate of one (1) year of experience will equal (2) years of training.

Skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential to this role. The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information is crucial, as is the capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
