Economic Development Director

About the role

The City of South Burlington is seeking an experienced Economic Development Director to lead the implementation of the city's strategic plan, foster partnerships, support business growth, and advance various initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Implement the City’s Economic Development Strategic Plan.
• Steward partnerships, support business growth, strengthen key industry clusters, advance workforce and talent initiatives, and help shape vibrant places like City Center and future mixed-use districts.
• Ensure that South Burlington’s economic growth aligns with its climate leadership, community identity, and long-term goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in economic development, public administration, planning, business, or a related field.
• 7-10 years of increasingly responsible experience in economic development, innovation ecosystems, cluster development, planning, or municipal management.

Salary Range

$95,000 to $125,000 annually.
