Ecology/Waters Team Lead
Job Description
Parsons Corporation is seeking an experienced professional to join our growing Indianapolis environmental practice. The Indianapolis office is leading the way in delivering major transportation projects across the state, and our full-service environmental group is integral to its success.
Responsibilities
- Manage and/or deliver all ecological and permitting requirements for transportation projects in Indiana, including:
- Field investigations
- Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) report development
- Section 404/401 permitting
- Construction in a Floodway (CIF) permitting
- Experience with high-profile and complex projects is preferred.
- Conduct field investigations for the presence of threatened and endangered species (e.g., bats, migratory birds).
- Lead field investigations and provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members within areas of expertise.
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with other disciplines involved in projects (e.g., public involvement, roadway, bridge, drainage, construction).
- Implement Parsons’ quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) system, including reviewing work products and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
- Actively participate in public involvement activities (e.g., public meetings, presentations, hearings).
- Support business development activities, including project pursuits and preparation of letters of interest.
- Take advantage of leadership and growth opportunities within a dynamic and growing environmental team.
Qualifications
- 4-year degree in biology, environmental science, or a related field.
- 40-hour USACE-approved Wetland Delineation Training.
- 8+ years of related work experience, with experience supporting INDOT projects preferred.
- Relevant professional certifications (PWS, CPESC, etc.) are desirable but not required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Previous consulting experience is a plus.
Pay
Salary Range: $88,400.00 - $154,700.00
