Ecologist

About the role

R2T, Inc. is seeking an Ecologist to join our growing Environmental group in the Atlanta, GA area. The successful candidate will provide ecological support to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).

Responsibilities

• Conducts quality assurance reviews of documents related to compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Georgia Environmental Policy Act (GEPA), environmental permitting, tracking the status of environmental tasks to ensure adherence to baseline schedules, and updating GDOT databases.
• Maintain a complete project file including, but not limited to, field notes, draft and approved reports and documents, transmittals, correspondence, e-mails, meeting notes, permits, and variances.
• Cook up with appropriate GDOT offices, state and federal agencies, as needed.
• Provide other professional services as identified by GDOT related to the support of environmental services.
• Aid with public involvement activities as required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1-2 years related work experience (in most cases).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Technology or related field is required.
• Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely with written and verbal communication.
• Team player, a professional who is eager to collaborate and communicate with project team members.
• Must have ability to interface with other disciplines and employees.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite.
• Valid driver's license.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening test. Authorized to work in the United States.
