Ecologist

About the role

Passarella & Associates, Inc. is seeking a career-seeking, entry-level ecologist for our Fort Myers, Florida office. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in both outdoor environments—including walking long distances and performing field work under various conditions such as heat and humidity—and an office setting.

Applicants should be hard working, punctual, eager to learn, dependable, possess strong writing skills, and be willing to work in a collaborative team setting.

Responsibilities

• Vegetation/preserve monitoring
• Habitat mapping
• Wetland delineations
• Listed/protected species surveys
• Protected species relocation
• Technical report writing

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in the natural sciences (preferably environmental science, ecology, soil science, wetland science, botany, wildlife biology, or a related field)
• Valid Driver’s License with the ability to drive a company vehicle

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in native and invasive plant species identification
• Familiarity with native habitats/ecosystems of Florida
• Knowledge of current state and federal listed species
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel)
• Basic GPS data collection skills
