About the role
Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a senior ecological professional to lead an Ecological Practice in our Cleveland, OH office. This role is critical to CEC’s integrated services, which account for approximately 10% of our annual revenues.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead an Ecological Practice at CEC
- Grow and manage the practice, including leading and managing projects
- Develop and market to new and existing clients, expanding our services to various industries
- Provide senior technical expertise and mentoring to staff and managers
- Manage multiple activities, technical professionals, and targeted client base
- Work with local and regional management to grow the practice
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Ecology, Biology, Environmental Science, or related technical field
- 15+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: aquatic ecology, threatened and endangered species consultation, Environmental Planning (NEPA/FERC), or environmental permitting and reporting
- Knowledge of Section 401, 402, 404 Federal Clean Water Act Regulations
- Experience working with state and federal regulators and understanding regulations from agencies like EPA, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service
- Writing skills and ability to prepare technical reports
