About the Role

Performs echocardiographic procedures, using special equipment, to measure, calculate, and report pertinent patient data to facilitate accurate diagnostic outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts echocardiograms as requested throughout the Medical Center, including all patient rooms and the emergency room.
  • Explains procedures to patients, providing instructions and direct care to ensure accuracy and patient comfort.
  • Assesses data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements.
  • Recognizes artifacts, eliminates probable sources, and troubleshoots minor equipment problems.
  • Consistently meets department standards for RVUs while maintaining quality work.
  • Processes images acquired from different modalities according to established policies and procedures.
  • Performs data entry related to procedures, including charges, pick lists, logbook, and schedule-related functions to ensure corporate compliance.
  • Practices radiation safety and ensures compliance among other staff and students.
  • Obtains pertinent clinical data adequately as it relates to procedures performed.
  • Analyzes, processes, and reports outcomes in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Echo course.
  • Certification or 3 years of experience with specialized training in Echocardiography, with the ability to perform, measure, and preliminarily interpret echocardiographic studies.

Qualifications

  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS CPR certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

$33—$44.38 USD per hour.
