About the Role
As an Echocardiographer, you will specialize in using non-invasive imaging technology to analyze a patient's heart, focusing on the function of veins, arteries, chambers, and valves. You will calibrate and operate medical diagnostic imaging machines to capture images of the heart, assisting in the diagnosis of cardiac and valvular disorders.
Responsibilities
- Operate echocardiography machines to record and assess wall motion, valvular function, and kinesis of the heart.
- Assist with Stress Testing and other non-invasive cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing procedures as requested by physicians and according to departmental demands.
- Demonstrate competency in all areas of echocardiography, including transthoracic echo, transesophageal echo, stress echo, and pharmacologic induced stress echo.
Requirements
- Minimum one year of technical training in an approved AMA/ACCA Sonographer Program with a Certificate of Completion.
- Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Sonographer and BLS certification required.
- Minimum one year of recent hospital or clinical experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of 12 Lead EKG interpretation.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
