About the Role
Assist ECHO Vascular staff in providing patient care in assigned areas to patients of all ages per the assigned unit scope. Provides direct and indirect patient care duties under the guidance and direction of the team. Participates in unit activities that enhance and promote quality patient care outcomes in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of the patient care services.
Qualifications
- Enrolled and in good standing in an accredited 2-year / Associate Degree in Cardiovascular Technology/Sonography (Required)
- High School Diploma (Required)
Work Experience
1 Year Cardiovascular Ultrasound (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
Responsibilities
- Able to perform adult echocardiography/vascular ultrasound exams under the supervision of a certified/registered Echo Vascular Technologist:
- Perform required exams with supervision that meet quality standards of the lab and interpreting physicians.
- Act as a resource in area of expertise.
- Provide leadership and training opportunities to department through department stand-ups and on-the-job training.
- Perform Adult Echo, Pediatric Echo, and Adult Vascular Exams.
- Conduct TEE Echocardiography.
- Assist OR with ultrasound-guided procedures.
- Perform Pediatric Echocardiography as required.
- Technology and Equipment Use:
- Demonstrates technical skill in using equipment appropriate for role.
- Understands equipment operation.
- Maintains equipment in working order.
- Troubleshoots equipment problems.
- Uses technology to increase productivity.
- Adapts to new technology.
- Additional Duties:
- Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.
- Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission, and vision of the organization.
- Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs).
- Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services, requirements, and competency evaluations on time.
- Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
- For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age-specific customer service skills.
- Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
