This position is part-time (PT32 Flex), with hours or shifts scheduled as needed.

About the Role

As a Registered Echo Technologist, you will perform routine and complex echocardiography and vascular duplex ultrasound examinations under general supervision, following established policies and procedures. You will also provide preliminary interpretation of studies performed, including trans-thoracic, stress, and contrast echocardiograms using commercially prepared contrast agents.

Responsibilities

  • Performs high-quality echocardiograms with associated measurements and calculations as established by the Medical Director.
  • Evaluates abnormal pathology and notifies physicians of any life-threatening or relevant test data and/or conditions.
  • Reviews procedures with physicians and the Medical Director as needed or requested.
  • Handles clerical duties for the echo/vascular department, including preparation of studies for review, logging, archiving, entering charges into EMR, and CD duplication.
  • Troubleshoots equipment, arranges for service with the department manager, and performs routine maintenance such as cleaning probes, machine surfaces, and filters.
  • Travels to alternate office locations to meet department and patient care needs.
  • Approaches change positively and treats new situations as opportunities for learning or growth.
  • Greets customers promptly and courteously, providing full attention and actively listening to their concerns.
  • Handles upset customers by hearing them out, empathizing, apologizing, and taking responsibility for resolving issues.
  • Monitors and checks equipment and work areas to ensure operational and safety compliance.
  • Demonstrates concern, empathy, accountability, and responsibility while performing procedures in a caring, compassionate, and respectful manner.
  • Performs examinations accurately and in a timely manner according to established procedures.
  • Obtains and documents complete patient history related to the procedure, including informed consent per departmental policy.
  • Maintains effective communication with patients, explaining procedures within the scope of practice.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of occurrence reporting in Athena and uses the system to report potential patient safety issues.
  • Maintains proactive communication with radiologists regarding unusual clinical findings, history, test results, or their implications.
  • Ensures physician orders for procedures are entered accurately and consults appropriate resources for unfamiliar or questionable orders.
  • Optimizes the use of supplies, equipment, and services to ensure high-level clinical care at the lowest cost.
  • Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety or quality of care.
  • Ensures orders match diagnosis for proper reimbursement.
  • Demonstrates a "patient-first" approach, introducing yourself and your role to the patient and acting as a patient advocate.
  • Assists co-workers to achieve goals and acts as a resource as appropriate.
  • Actively participates in staff meetings and in-services.
  • Takes personal responsibility for professional development and promotes the development of self and others through participation in professional organizations and educational opportunities.
  • Acts as an ambassador for Millennium Physician Group by promoting a professional and positive image of the organization.
  • Adheres to company Standards of Behaviors.

Requirements

  • RDCS with RVT preferred; CCI also acceptable.
  • BLS and CPR certifications required.

Schedule

  • Monday, Tuesday, and Friday in Lee County.
  • Wednesday and Friday as flex days, as needed.
  • Locations: Fort Myers and Cape Coral, FL.
