Echo Technologist, PRN

About the role

Bright Light Medical Imaging is seeking experienced Echo Technologists on a PRN basis. The position offers flexible scheduling with hours varying between 8:00 am - 7:00 pm.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examinations by checking equipment, taking inventory of supplies and replenishing stock as needed
• Review physician orders and patient schedules, readying recording equipment and inputting patient information
• Manage patient stress by patiently explaining exam procedure, answering questions and providing ambulatory assistance
• Position patients, apply medical gels and electrodes, connect and adjust equipment and verify wave signals
• Accurately position transducer, monitor display, listen to signals, adjust beam strength and focus, detect artifacts that mimic abnormalities, and record images
• Print data and graphics, produce measurements of heart wall, chamber size, and blood flow direction and velocity, and compare measurements to established norms
• Maintain patient confidentiality and protect operations by following established procedures to safeguard confidential information
• Keep job-related knowledge up to date by taking advantage of educational opportunities, networking, reading professional publications and participating in professional organizations
• Provide education, training, and direction to new technologists according to department standards and protocols set by radiologists
• Perform all job-related functions as an Echo Technologist, including all imaging procedures in a timely and efficient manner
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited echocardiography technology program
• ARDMS Certified RDCS, AE Certified preferred
• Previous experience favorable in cardiovascular imaging setting
• Proficiency running advanced echo studies independently
• CPR-BLS Certification
