About the role
To provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures according to established policy and procedure. Use independent judgement and systematic problem-solving methods to produce high quality diagnostic information and optimal patient care and other assigned duties as assigned by the Operations Manager for Noninvasive.
Responsibilities
- Performs all required ultrasound and clinical evaluations at a technical level with minimal supervision.
- Affords assistance in the daily operations of the echo lab.
- Maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of competence under the supervision of the Operations Manager for Noninvasive.
- Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record appropriate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images.
- Congruently coordinates work schedule with manager to ensure workload coverage.
- Consults with referring physician, patient chart, and/or manager regarding patient’s history to determine appropriate lab procedure when necessary.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the manager.
Requirements
- RDCS – Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or RCS – Registered Cardiac Sonographer
- Echocardiology registry eligible through accredited cardiovascular program, Echocardiology Registered within 1 year of hire.
