Full-time Echo Cardiac Technologist position located in Carmel, Indiana.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Call rotation approximately every fifth week, covering off-hours:
- Monday–Friday: 5:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- Saturday–Sunday: 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
- Holiday call coverage included, rotated among team members annually
Responsibilities
- Performs, administers, and monitors cardio-diagnostic tests with primary emphasis on cardiac sonography and Doppler studies
- Administers all cardio-diagnostic tests and provides physicians with preliminary findings of recorded data through monitoring and calculations
- Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and skills to work with patients from pediatric through geriatric populations
- Follows physician’s instructions, prepares and operates equipment, and positions patients to record diagnostic images
- Treats patients with care and respect
- Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when patient condition does not permit routine positioning
- Passes written exam for Basic EKG interpretation with a score >85% initially and repeats yearly
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification may be required, if applicable
- Eligible to sit for registry at time of hire and must pass within one year from start date through one of the following:
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS): Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
- Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI): Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS), or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS)
- May require registry/certification for another modality, if applicable
- May require license from Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), if applicable
- Minimum of one year of experience in Echocardiography preferred
