Job Summary We are seeking an experienced ECAD Librarian to manage and maintain our schematic symbol and PCB footprint libraries, ensuring our design teams work from accurate, consistent, and manufacturable component data. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and organize the ECAD library of Allegro schematic symbols and PCB footprints, ensuring alignment with design team requirements and project specificationsCreate and validate complex schematic symbols and PCB footprints in Allegro, ensuring compliance with IPC standards and company guidelinesBuild and maintain complete component metadata, including part numbering, attributes, and datasheet linkageCollaborate with the manufacturing team to adjust symbols and footprints as needed, ensuring compliance with design for manufacturability (DFM) requirements and alignment with JEDEC standards and industry guidelinesPartner with electrical engineers and layout designers to resolve library issues quickly and prevent errors from propagating into fabrication and assemblyEstablish and enforce best practices for library version control, part approvals, and data integrityCollaborate with component suppliers to obtain accurate technical data and ensure compatibility with design requirementsPerform detailed quality checks on symbols and footprints to guarantee design accuracy and reliability You May Be a Good Fit If You Have Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience5+ years of experience in ECAD library management, including creating Allegro schematic symbols and PCB footprintsExpertise in Allegro PCB Editor and related tools for symbol and footprint creationGood understanding of Part Life Cycle, EOL parts, and RoHS/EU complianceStrong understanding of IPC standards for PCB footprint creation, JEDEC package standards, and package dimensional tolerancesExperience working directly with manufacturing teams to adapt designs for optimal manufacturability and yieldExperience with version control systems for ECAD libraries, such as Git or PLM softwareExcellent attention to detail and ability to manage complex libraries with a focus on accuracy and efficiencyStrong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with electrical and manufacturing teamsExperience with scripting languages (e.g., SKILL for Allegro) to automate library management tasksKnowledge of BOM management and integration with ECAD libraries Benefits Medical, dental, and vision packages with generous premium coverage$500 per month credit for waiving medical benefitsHousing subsidy of $2k per month for those living within walking distance of the officeRelocation support for those moving to San Jose (Santana Row)Various wellness benefits covering fitness, mental health, and moreDaily lunch and dinner in our officeUnlimited compute budget subject to ROI justification How We’re Different Etched believes in the Bitter Lesson.
